It was named Kasuisai because the chief priest fell asleep in front of Ieyasu at a temple related to Ieyasu Tokugawa. During the Edo period, it controlled the Soto sect temples in Mikawa, Totoumi, Suruga, and Izu. The Akiha Sanshakubo Daigongen, which was relocated from Mt. Akiha in the 6th year of the Meiji era, is also enshrined.
